Unite Instinct V4 MTB Flat Pedals

The next generation of high-performance mountain bike pedals has arrived. Introducing the Unite Instinct V4, engineered from the ground up based on rider feedback, extensive prototyping, and rigorous shoe-compatibility testing. The V4 isn’t just an update—it’s a complete redesign for riders who demand maximum grip, durability, and a lower center of gravity.

Precision Engineered Pedal Body
The Instinct V4 features an oversized 113 x 105mm platform, providing a massive contact patch for improved bike control.

  • Low Profile: We’ve reduced the thickness to 17mm, creating a deeper concave feel that "hugs" your shoe and lowers your center of gravity.
  • 6082 Aerospace Aluminum: CNC machined from high-grade extrusion, the body maximizes strength-to-weight ratios while reducing environmental waste during production.
  • Rock Strike Ready: Strategic recesses and chamfered leading edges allow the pedal to deflect off rocks and roots without losing momentum.

Weather-Proof Internal Bearing System
Designed to survive the harshest riding conditions, from dusty alpine descents to the mud of a British winter. The V4 internal layout is optimized for longevity:

  • Triple-Sealed Protection: Each pedal runs on 1x Needle bearing, 1x Sealed cartridge bearing, and 1x Bushing.
  • Dual-Seal Technology: Two separate seals offer optimum protection against water and grit ingress.
  • Fully Serviceable: We believe in gear that lasts. Full service kits and replacement EN24T axles are readily available.

Maximum Traction Pin Design
We’ve replaced standard bolts with custom-designed traction pins. Through initial testing, these proved significantly grippier than traditional hardware.

  • Easy Maintenance: The pin diameter is smaller than the thread, meaning even if you smash a pin on a rock, it can still be easily removed and replaced.
  • Universal Compatibility: Large counterbores allow you to use standard M4 bolts in a pinch if you ever run out of spares.

    excellent pedals, superb level of grip from the pins supplied when I was worried that they would be too short.. they are perfect.
    using them with a pair of RC powerline shoes and its almost like being clipped in, even on the roughest descent ive not felt like I could slip a pedal.

    This is a great set of pedals... the axels turn with a bit of resistance out the box but they soon bed in. The resistance is reassuring of tight machining tolerances. The machining of the body isn't quite as refined as e.g. Hope but then they are 1/2 the price and let's not forget, Unite Co are young - they were founded 2016 so they're not even 5! Compared to the bigger, more established brands Unite Co just getting started. Definitely one to watch! In the meantime I'll be thrashing their pedals and chainrings without any worries about their quality or performance. Top work!

    Second set of Instinct pedals for other bike. Was so impressed with first pair. Solid pedals and well made in Gods Country, whats not to like! All parts available as spares also helps when the time comes they need a service but they are tight out the box so cant see this being needed for a while. Highly recommended.

    Purchased to replace a 2 year old pair of Nukeproof flats. Pound for pound they are a much better made, finished & well designed product.

    The Nukeproof pedals have pins that need removing with the mole grips if they take a hit.

    The Instinct has pins that are fitted from the back side so that the hex is protected.

    Bigger platform than Nukeproof for better grip and comfort. Perfect for size 11 feet.

    So good I’ve swapped over to these on both my bikes.

    Super grippy and haven't lost any of the amazing colour so far.
    Pins are included but you need to put them all in yourself so make sure you have locktight available and read the online instructions for torque settings.

    Actually the best pedals I've ever owned - light, grippy, well made, gorgeous to look at and incredibly robust; what's not to like?! I've told all my friends to get them too and I'm about to buy a second set for my downhill bike.

    I also really like that all the spare parts are listed on your site and the prices are really reasonable too, which saves throwing pedals away and keeps the planet happy. Nice one Unite!

    I got these for my jump bike and I got to admit I have tried a few different pedels and these are very good and grippy and smooth , I would recommend them to anyone . Good price and worth every penny, my only issue is you need a alan key to put the studs in but it is not supplied.

    Hands down the nicest flat pedal I planted my feet on and my feet may as well be clipped in as they've not slipped once. The pedals have a super solid feel to them and everything just feels high quality. I can't comment on bearing durability as yet as they've only been on my bike for a matter of 2 months at the moment, but the rotational movement feels as smooth and as tight as the day I fit them which I like.
