The V2 Compact Chain Guide is light, simple, offers excellent chain security and mud clearance with silent retention. The guide has been designed around a unique modular design where you can run the guide and the bash together or independently. This also makes it possible to mix and match colours to give enough combos for even the fussiest rider.

The V2 Chain Guide has proven itself on the world stage with U21 EWS rider Brady Stone who is currently ranked 1st in the global rankings and also took an overall EWS stage win!

The slider has been designed to offer the perfect balance between weight, chain retention and durability, the open design offers excellent mud clearance. The slider is 3D printed from a high-tech engineering plastic, which is not only incredibly strong, but also offers excellent chemical resistance from bike cleaners/polishes and chain lubes. The back plate is CNC machined from 6082 aluminium, the use of two fitment points not only saves weight but also makes it possible to fit the chain-guide without removing the cranks. Because of the large array of different chain lines, we have designed the guide to include the use of spacers on the slider and on the frame mounts giving lots of adjustment where needed to get the the guide perfectly aligned with the chain.

CHAIN RETENTION CHECKLIST

Having issues with dropped chains? Run through the points below for complete chain security!

  • Use with a clutch mech, regularly check the tension.
  • Check your chain wear, a worn chain will increase chain drops and wear out your drivetrain faster.
  • Check your chain length, to slack and you will lose retention, to tight and the chain will break.
  • Keep you chain/bike clean and well lubricated.
  • Couple it with one of our thick thin chainrings.

Compatibility

Compatible with most bikes fitted with ISCG-05 tabs. Clearance's can be tight on frames with high forward pivots so you may need to get creative with the spacing.

    Ordered the blue one, the colour is nothing like the one in the advert. The blue in the advert would have matched my son’s pedals and grips, the one received doesn’t. Had to put it on his bike though as it’s bank holiday weekend and haven’t time for returns etc. Would have just ordered black if I’d known the colour was totally different.

    Absolutely love this chain guide. Bought as part of the combo deal, alongside the bash guard. My previous guide had no way near the level of adjustability this guide has, with little to no vertical adjustment. This guide however can be adjusted up, down, left, right and even the width of the plastic guide shell can be adjusted to be further or closer the the frame using spacers. Definitely worth the price, especially in combo deal, and amazing choice of colours for any bike.

    Easy to fit, plenty of adjustment. Has to be rotated all the way to the front to clear the pivot on my frame (bird aeris AM9) but still does the job.

    Can get all gears without rubbing on gx eagle / 32 front.
    Didn’t need to remove cranks or anything to fit. Lots of spacers provided to get perfect alignment.

    Massive step on from the previous guide Unite launch their brand with. Easy to fit with plenty of chain line adjustment. CNC work is stunning. I'd love to see a little more design work on the polymer guide piece, just feels a bit budget on what is otherwise a stunning piece of kit.

    Very well made and easy to fit. Shims instead of washers for spacing off the ISCG mount makes the chain device easy to fit, and it can be fitted without removing the cranks.
    It is lightweight, solid and well made.

    I've only recently fit my chain guide to my latest dream build bike so this is not a long term test review, but from my initial impression when I first opened the packaging I was really impressed with the build quality and the detail. Fitting the item was super simple thanks the the properly engineered shims that just hook and slot into place, rather than having to dick around with individual little washer like with other brands of chain guides. Up to now the guide has performed excellently so I'm more than confident it will stand the test of time too.
